TITAN BOOKS ANNOUNCES TRANSFORMERS COLLECTIONS FOR 2002!
Titan Books, the leading publisher of graphic novels in the UK, has extended its deal with Hasbro to release collections of classic Transformers material both sides of the Atlantic throughout 2002.While Marvel Comics continues apace with its previously announced plans to collect the classic GI Joe comic strip material, Titan will be focusing exclusively on the Transformers line.
Titan's first book, Transformers: All Fall Down (issues #69-74) has been a runaway success. Transformers: End of the Road (issues #75-80) has likewise become one Titan's bestselling titles of 2001.
Next up are Transformers: Primal Scream (March 2002) and Transformers: Matrix Quest (May 2002), which collect the stories from issues #56-68 and reveal the whole epic sweep of the apocalyptic Unicron story. Further volumes are planned for the second half of 2002.
Transformers writer, Simon Furman, says:
"If I have my way, the Titan Transformers program will just keep rolling on and on! We're at the 'tip of the iceberg' stage, and even though 2002 promises to see my complete run back in print, there is still the original mini-series and all the many issues that writer Bob Budiansky penned. Right now, the sky's the limit… and I am the happiest guy around."
